Judge dismisses case against Alec Baldwin in "Rust" shooting

• Baldwin, who cried in court after the dismissal, has denied responsibility for Hutchins' death and argued there should never have been live rounds on set.

Driving the news: Baldwin's legal team argued that state investigators hid evidence that could have provided insight into how live rounds made it onto the film set.

• "The late discovery of this evidence during trial has impeded the effective use of evidence in such a way that it has impacted the fundamental fairness of the proceedings," the judge said per the AP.
• "If this conduct does not rise to the level of bad faith it certainly comes so near to bad faith to show signs of scorching," she added.
• Prosecutors said the ammunition was not hidden nor related to the case.
