Bronny James to team up with Lebron after Lakers draft 19-year-old

The Los Angeles Lakers picked Bronny James in the NBA draft's second round on Thursday, putting him on the same team as his basketball legend father LeBron James.

Why it matters: It sets them on the path to become the first-ever father and son duo to play on the same NBA game, though it doesn't guarantee it.

The big picture: The 39-year-old James' longevity has helped make this a potential possibility. This coming season will be his 22nd in the NBA, which would match Vince Carter as the league player with the longest career.

His 19-year-old guard son overcame a cardiac arrest during a season at the University of Southern California.
