Club Q in Colorado Springs will change its location and name after deadly 2022 shooting

• The club was known for providing a safe space and a sense of belonging for the city's LGBTQ+ community.

Details: Nightclub managers plan to open a new venue at a spot several miles from its original location, according to a news release.

• It will be dubbed The Q and located inside the historic Satellite Hotel in southern Colorado Springs.
• It will offer a variety of entertainment, from drag shows and karaoke to bingo and arcade games.

What they're saying: "We will never be able to make those impacted by the shooting at Club Q whole, but we hope this new space can provide community healing" and "can be a small part of rebuilding the Colorado Springs LGBTQ+ community," the management team said in a statement.

• The goal is to "provide a safe, affirming and inclusive space to everyone."

Of note: The Q will be managed and operated by survivors of the November shooting.

• The current location will serve as a permanent memorial for the victims.
