Judge dismisses Georgia lawsuit alleging election fraud in 2020

A state judge on Wednesday dismissed a Georgia lawsuit alleging that members of Fulton County's election board counted fraudulent ballots in the 2020 election, Reuters reports.

Driving the news: Henry County Superior Court Judge Brian Amero said that petitioners failed to allege injuries affected them in a "personal and individual way," per Reuters.

The big picture: The order puts to rest the latest attempt by some private groups making false claims that voter fraud in some cities helped President Biden get elected over former President Trump in the 2020 election.

Wednesday's court ruling comes one day after attorneys for Georgia's secretary of state said the office thoroughly investigated the lawsuit and found no allegations of election fraud in Fulton County.
Garland Favorito, the leader of the lawsuit against Fulton County, said Wednesday that it was "not adequate for any organization to secretly tell us there are no counterfeit ballots and refuse to let the public inspect them," per Reuters.
