Separate bombs killed at least seven people in a mostly Shiite neighborhood in Kabul on Saturday, according to an official within Afghanistan's Interior Ministry.
Why it matters: Violence has escalated since President Biden announced the planned withdrawal of all U.S. troops by Sept. 11 of this year.
Details: The bombs hit two minivans less than two miles apart on the same road, deputy spokesman Ahmad Zia Zia told the AP. In addition to those killed, six others are wounded.
- No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks though they resemble recent bombings on minivans in the area carried out by the Islamic State.
