Rachael Blackmore made history Saturday, becoming the first female jockey to win the prestigious Grand National horse race.
What she's saying: "I don't feel male or female right now, I don't even feel human. This is just unbelievable," the 31-year-old Irish jockey said after winning the race on Minella Times at England's Aintree Racecourse.
- “I never even imagined I’d get a ride in this race, never mind get my hands on the trophy," she added.
The big picture: The closest a female jockey had previously come to winning the National was in 2012 when Katie Walsh finished third on Seabass, per AP.
- Blackmore is the 20th female jockey to ride in the Grand National, which only started allowing women to compete in 1975.
