Democratic megadonor George Soros told the New York Times that he believes Elizabeth Warren is the "most qualified" candidate for the presidency in 2020 — though he stopped short of an outright endorsement.
Why it matters: Soros has donated tens of millions of dollars to Democratic candidates over the last few election cycles and set up his own super PAC ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

"There are more Main Streets in America than there are Wall Streets. So I don’t think that Wall Street, other than being a source of money, will have its way in choosing the president."
Worth noting: Despite the fact that many in finance are worried about Warren's progressive stance, Soros — a billionaire financier — said that he supports increasing taxes on the wealthy and reiterated his support for a wealth tax, which is one of Warren's key policy promises.
