Siti Aisyah, the Indonesian woman accused of killing the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, was freed after Malaysian prosecutors dropped the murder charge against her, the Jakarta Post reported Sunday night.
Details: The 26-year-old was accused of smearing VX nerve agent on Kim Jong-nam's face in Kuala Lumpur airport in 2017. She and her co-accused Doan Thi Huong, from Vietnam, deny they murdered him and say they believed they were part of a television prank. The judge's freeing of Aisyah does not amount to an acquittal, Channel News Asia reports, but she is now free to leave Malaysia.
