Democrat Stacey Abrams on Friday acknowledged her Republican opponent Brian Kemp as the winner of the Georgia gubernatorial election, and said she will file a federal lawsuit challenging the “gross mismanagement” of Georgia’s election, the Associated Press reports.
Why it matters: After 10 days in limbo, Kemp has a 2% lead over Abrams with 50.2% of the vote — just above the 50% threshold needed for a runoff election in December.
