Edelman names former Obama digital guru as D.C. general manager

Edelman has named former Obama administration digital chief Tom Cochran as general manager for digital and integrated marketing in its Washington, D.C., office.
Why it matters: Cochran has experience rolling out large-scale digital advocacy campaigns for the White House and elsewhere. Many of Edelman's clients in Washington are advocacy advertisers or large corporate social responsibility campaigns on behalf of mega corporations.
The details: Cochran will report to Lisa Ross, president of Edelman’s Washington, D.C., office and will oversee Edelman's digital and integrated marketing team which includes creative, social media, data and production teams.
The bigger picture: Cochran's experience also includes managing digital election campaigns at Blue State Digital (a progressive digital firm), leading a public service unit at Acquia, a cloud provider, and managing technology at The Atlantic Media Company, which includes The Atlantic, Quartz, etc.
