Former Microsoft executive Brian Hall has joined Amazon as a VP of product marketing in its Web services unit, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Why it matters: Amazon, and in particular its Web services unit, has served as a landing place for a number of ex-Microsoft execs.
Hall previously ran Microsoft's hardware business, including Surface, and also served as CEO of ill-fated wearables startup Doppler Labs.
