2020 foretold: Women, health care and an urgent Medicare crisis

• You see it in candidate after candidate embracing Bernie Sanders' Medicare for All, creating a new litmus test for 2020 hopefuls.
• You see it in reports on the health of Medicare and deficits, creating the near-certainty that candidates will have to face an entitlement program running out of cash just as the Trump deficits are hitting $1 trillion.
• You see it in rising health care premiums and in polls showing voters care more about this topic than impeachment or trade wars. An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll out this morning finds health care coming as the most important issue (22%), just ahead of the economy and jobs (19%).

Be smart: This is a lot like Hillary’s message in 2016 — with an even bigger government solution health care twist. That didn’t work so well for her.
