Defense Department identifies U.S. soldier killed in Syria

The American soldier killed in a roadside bombing in Syria has been identified by the Department of Defense as 36-year-old Master Sgt. Jonathan J. Dunbar from Austin, Texas, per USA Today.
Dunbar and British soldier Sgt. Matt Tonroe were killed by the detonation of an "improvised explosive device" on March 30. Five others were injured in the blast.
