Other interesting facts:
- Overall, there are more working men than women, with the exception of African-Americans. There are more working black women than black men.
- The highest paying occupations are in the management, professional and related category, according to BLS, and half of working, Asian men worked in this field in 2012. 35% of white men, 24% of black men and 17% of Hispanic men had jobs in that category.
- Black and Hispanic women were least likely to have jobs in the management, professional and related category. Only 34% of employed Black women and 26% of Hispanics held these jobs in 2012.
- In 2016, African Americans have had the highest rate of unemployment (8.4%), according to BLS data, while Asians had the lowest rate of unemployment (3.6%).
