President Trump meeting with military leaders on Syria yesterday. Photo: Nicholas Kamm/AFP/Getty Images
“President Trump will not attend the 8th Summit of the Americas in Lima, Peru or travel to Bogota, Colombia as originally scheduled. At the President’s request, the Vice President will travel in his stead. The President will remain in the United States to oversee the American response to Syria and to monitor developments around the world.”— White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders
Why it matters: Trump yesterday said during a meeting with military leaders that he's preparing a response to reports of a chemical weapons attack in Syria. "We have a lot of options, militarily. And we'll be letting you know pretty soon," he said.
