Auto-parts maker Delphi and Transdev, a French company, say they'll test completely autonomous vehicles (2 taxis and a shuttle van) in France next year, the Associated Press reports. The companies are also looking for places in North America to test the technology.
Why this matters: This test would be one of the first on public roads to carry passengers with no human drivers, AP says.
