Coca-Cola Consolidated invests $25 million in West Memphis

A message from: Coca-Cola Consolidated

Coca-Cola Consolidated made a $25 million investment in its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in West Memphis, Arkansas.
Why it's important: The expansion enables an increase in production from 26 to 29 million cases of product per year.
They can now produce bottles from start to finish, keeping the production process local, thanks to expanded capabilities at the West Memphis location.
How it's done: The facility leverages new equipment and blow mold technology, a high-speed, automated process that uses heat and compressed air to form full bottles.
- The expansion will also allow for an additional blow mold line.
West Memphis is also one of the first locations to roll out new lighter-weight bottles and bottle designs.
What this means: These significant changes will result in energy savings and less plastic waste, carbon emissions and PET used in bottles.
Here's what else: The West Memphis warehouse investment also means workforce expansion.
- Coca-Cola Consolidated will hire 19 more people, including 14 operators, two mechanics, two quality control workers and a forklift driver.
- They've procured more than $36 million in goods and services from Arkansas suppliers and have supported more than 7,300 jobs.
In other words: The team at Coca-Cola Consolidated is invested in the growth and innovation of West Memphis.
- "We're excited to grow in West Memphis," said Aaron Bell, VP of Sales & Service Mid-South Market Unit at Coca-Cola Consolidated. "This investment in our Teammates and warehouse capabilities shows our long-term dedication to improving how we serve the world's best brands and flavors to our communities."
