Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy has been forced out of power in a no-confidence vote in Parliament on Friday, after a Spanish court ruling that Rajoy's party financially benefited from an illegal kickback scheme.

What's next: Socialist leader Pedro Sánchez, who has promised to implement policies that will address unemployment and poverty levels, is expected to take office immediately.
