1 big thing: ⛳️ Zhang wins pro debut

Rose Zhang lived up to the hype this weekend, becoming the first player since 1951 to win on the LPGA Tour in her pro debut.
Driving the news: Just 13 days after winning the individual NCAA championship at Stanford, the 20-year-old captured the Mizuho Americas Open in Jersey City, N.J.
- Zhang beat Jennifer Kupcho in a playoff, with the lower Manhattan skyline serving as the backdrop.
- 🎥 ICYMI: Her gorgeous approach shot on the tournament-winning hole.
The big picture: Zhang was the best amateur women's golfer ever, spending a record 141 weeks at No. 1 and becoming the first woman to win two NCAA individual titles. Now, she's undefeated as a pro.
- Sunday's victory was worth $412,500 and earned Zhang an automatic LPGA Tour membership, which she accepted.
- "It's just incredible," she said. "I can't even imagine the opportunities ahead of me. I'm just thankful to be along for the ride."
Speaking of golf prodigies … 13-year-old Jaden Soong tees off today with a chance to become the youngest player ever to secure a spot in the U.S. Open.

The Heat beat the Nuggets, 111-108, on Sunday to even the NBA Finals and hand Denver its first home loss of the playoffs.
By the numbers: Gabe Vincent scored 23 points and Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo each had 21 to pace the Heat.
- Duncan Robinson scored all 10 of his points during a roughly two-minute spurt in the fourth quarter.
- Miami was down by as many as 15 points but used the deep ball to fight their way back (17-35 3PT).
The other side: Nikola Jokić had 41 points for the Nuggets, who are now 0-3 this postseason when he scores 40+ points (and 13-1 when he scores fewer than 40).
- The two-time MVP had just four assists, well below his playoff average of 10.5.
- Could the secret to success for Miami be turning Jokić, an elite playmaker, into more of a scorer? The numbers say yes, but Erik Spoelstra says no.
Looking ahead: After two high-altitude battles, the series shifts to sea level for Wednesday's Game 3 in Miami.
3. 🎾 Americans fall in Paris (again)

An American man hasn't won a Grand Slam since Andy Roddick won the 2003 U.S. Open. That streak won't end in Paris.
Driving the news: All 16 American men in this year's French Open field failed to make it past the third round.
- Lost in first round: No. 30 Ben Shelton, Brandon Nakashima, Maxime Cressy, Mackenzie McDonald, John Isner, Emilio Nava, Aleksandar Kovacevic, Patrick Kypson, Christopher Eubanks, Michael Mmoh, J.J. Wolf
- Lost in second round: No. 16 Tommy Paul, No. 24 Seb Korda
- Lost in third round: No. 9 Taylor Fritz, No. 12 Frances Tiafoe, Marcos Giron
Wild stat: No American man has reached the French Open quarterfinals since Andre Agassi in 2003, and just four have reached the fourth round.
Of note … American women haven't fared much better in Paris this year. Just three of 18 reached the fourth round (No. 6 Coco Gauff, Sloane Stephens, Bernarda Pera) and only Gauff remains.

⚾️ Stay hot, Arráez: Luis Arráez raised his average to .392 on Sunday, joining Justin Turner in 2017 as the only players in the last decade to bat .390 or better at least 200 at-bats into the season.
🏁 Spanish Grand Prix: Red Bull's Max Verstappen won his fifth race in seven tries, while Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton and George Russell finished on the podium together for the first time this season.
