1 big thing: Trump considers joining war

President Trump is seriously considering launching a U.S. strike against Iran's nuclear facilities, sources tell Axios' Barak Ravid.
- Trump met with his national security team this afternoon to discuss options, after returning to Washington early from the G7 summit.
📱 Trump himself signaled his thinking in a series of threatening posts on Truth Social ahead of the Situation Room meeting.
- "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER," Trump wrote in one post.
- "Our patience is wearing thin," he said in another.
💬 What they're saying: Amid growing signs that the U.S. could strike Iran, Vice President JD Vance pushed back against criticism from prominent MAGA voices about Trump getting involved in the war.
- "The president has shown remarkable restraint in keeping our military's focus on protecting our troops and protecting our citizens," Vance wrote in a lengthy X post stressing Trump's consistency on the Iran nuclear issue.
- "He may decide he needs to take further action to end Iranian enrichment."
2. 📺 New streaming milestone

Streaming viewership in the U.S. eclipsed cable and broadcast combined last month for the first time, Axios' Sara Fischer reports from new Nielsen data.
- Last month, streaming represented 44.8% of all TV viewership, its largest share of viewing to date. Both broadcast and cable fell to near all-time lows.

- ⚖️ Brad Lander, New York City's comptroller and a mayoral candidate, was arrested by federal agents today outside federal immigration court. Video of the incident shows several men pulling and pushing Lander down a hallway while he asks to see a warrant. Go deeper.

- 🏦 "I don't buy this notion that somehow we have the right to expect everything to be constantly easy," JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon said at a Business Roundtable event today. He said businesses should maintain their workforce initiatives as they grapple with historic policy uncertainty. Go deeper.
4. 🍿 1 film thing

Tom Cruise will get an honorary Oscar later this year, Variety reports.
- Cruise has been nominated for his acting three times — for "Born on the Fourth of July," "Jerry Maguire" and "Magnolia" — but has never won.
🎬 Dolly Parton, choreographer Debbie Allen and production designer Wynn Thomas will also receive honorary Oscars at the Academy's annual Governors Awards this November.
