1 big thing: Indigenous art festival lands in RiNo
A celebration of Indigenous art makes its debut Friday in Denver's RiNo Art District.
The big picture: áyA Con, a family-friendly festival celebrating and showcasing Indigenous artists from across the state, will take over the Truss House in RiNo Art Park (1900 35th St.) for the first time this weekend.
- A Futurism Fashion Showcase will cap off Friday's festivities (7pm–10pm).
State of play: Over 100 vendors will participate in the Art Market, with indoor and outdoor booths available Saturday (10am–6pm) and Sunday (10am–5pm).
- The festival will include a resource fair on Friday (11am–6pm) with art making and local organizations focused on providing opportunities for youth and educators.
- Friday will also feature five panel discussions throughout the day, ranging in topics from world building through illustrations to how fandom communities support mental health.
The vibe: Nine musical and cultural performances will light up the stage on Saturday and Sunday.
- Saturday evening will bring a special Black Light Powwow, with people encouraged to wear their brightest regalia.
- Dust off your favorite superhero or comic book character costume for the cosplay contest on Sunday, which is sponsored by Meow Wolf and includes a cosplay pet parade.

2. More things to do this weekend
🥳 16th Street Mall will celebrate its official reopening Saturday with a scavenger hunt, live music, a brass band parade and $16 deals from businesses along the corridor. Free
🥐 Denver Bake Fest at Rebel Bread will bring together dozens of bakers and pastry lovers on Saturday in Denver's Design District for tastings, plus contests for pies, candies and sourdough. Tickets: $7
🐲 The Far East Center in Denver will host the Mid Autumn Festival Saturday from 2–11pm, boasting food, live entertainment and events including a Denver police versus firefighters eating contest. Free
🎧 The Rocky Mountain Record Show takes over the Denver Sports Castle on Saturday and Sunday, featuring more than 150,000 records and 75-plus vendors. Tickets: Starting at $7
🏃 The 2025 Sketchers Hot Chocolate Run is a family-friendly 5K on Sunday at Washington Park in Denver, with participants earning a jacket, commemorative medal and, of course, some hot chocolate. Tickets: Starting at $73.95
