1 big thing: Dig in for Asian food week
Mile High Asian Food Week kicks off this weekend, with more than 80 food and beverage vendors across Denver and the Front Range offering discounts and specialty menus.
Why it matters: The weeklong celebration supports local Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander businesses. The event also coincides with the beginning of AANHPI Heritage Month.
Zoom in: There are plenty of events, specials and pop-ups to peruse.
- Restaurants running specials the whole week include Hop Alley, Nana's Dim Sum & Dumplings, Magna Kainan and Yuan Wonton, to name a few.
Some one-night events not to miss:
- Little Ogre Bar pops up at RiNo's Block Distilling Co. on Sunday
- Nearly a dozen vendors take over ADOBO, the Latin-Asian fusion eatery on Federal, on Monday
- MAKfam hosts a "Tangra Takeover" with Chaatwala — a City Park Farmers Market staple serving Indian street food — next Thursday.
What they're saying: Chefs "can showcase specialty dishes that they've always wanted to try, collaborate with other businesses and restaurants, or add a fun twist to their standard fare," event founder Joanne Liu said in a statement.
If you go: The celebration runs through May 3.
2. 🕶️ More weekend fun
Here's what else is happening around town:
🧱 BrickSlopes, the ultimate LEGO fan event, debuts today in Denver at the Stockyards Event Center and runs through Sunday. Tickets start at $26.50
🛞 Monster Jam will bring massive trucks, wild stunts and some of the best drivers on the planet to tear up the dirt at Empower Field at Mile High at 3pm Saturday. Tickets start at $47.85
🏔️ Rocky Mountain National Park is celebrating National Parks Week with free admission on Saturday and family-friendly activities through Sunday.
🏒 The Colorado Avalanche are back at Ball Arena for Game 4 of their first-round playoff series against the Dallas Stars. 7:30pm Saturday. Tickets start at $183.26
⚽️ The Colorado Rapids host the Seattle Sounders at 7:30pm Saturday at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City. Tickets start at $24.57
⚾️ The Colorado Rockies take on the Cincinnati Reds at Coors Field all weekend: 6:40pm tomorrow; 1:10pm Saturday and Sunday. Tickets start at $12
🖼️ In celebration of Día del Niño, the Denver Art Museum and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science will be free to visit Sunday.

What we're watching: The final seasons of "You" and "Andor" and a documentary about a baby pangolin.
🔎 "You" season 5 on Netflix
State of play: We find Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley) back in New York City, adjusting to a new role as a wealthy family man in the series' final season.
Zoom in: Bingers rejoice! All 10 episodes of the campy thriller are available to stream.
💫 "Andor" season 2 on Disney+
What's inside: This Emmy-nominated "Star Wars" thriller returns as war is on the horizon, and Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna) becomes a key figure in the Rebel Alliance.
Context: The series is a prequel to 2016's "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" and covers the five years leading up to the film.
🥺"Pangolin: Kulu's Journey" on Netflix
The big picture: Pippa Ehrlich, the Academy Award-winning director of "My Octopus Teacher," is behind this documentary about a man who rescues a baby pangolin, one of the most trafficked animals in the world.
🩰 "Étoile" on Prime Video
State of play: This drama follows two renowned ballet companies in New York and Paris that swap talent in hopes of renewing the public's interest.
