1 big thing: 👨🍳 Hands-on cooking at Camp North End
Meet Chann and Monny Little, the owners of How Sanguine, who are bringing intimate dining experiences to Camp North End — all from the comfort of a home setting.
Why it matters: The couple set out to make learning feel less intimidating by meeting people where they are — in a setting that mirrors the kind of space most of us actually cook in.
What they're saying: "We created How Sanguine because we were craving the kind of intimate, nontraditional dining experiences we saw in other cities—private dinner clubs, long conversation-filled meals, spaces that feel safe and welcoming, especially for Black and queer folks," Chann said.
Context: The couple first went viral on TikTok, when Chann filmed private chef Monny preparing daily elaborate four- to five-course meals at home for the two of them.
- Engagement from their recipe content eventually led them to open How Sanguine last year.
The vibe: Inside How Sanguine's live-work apartment at Kinship, guests can attend hands-on cooking classes and private themed dinners with wine pairings. (And no — they don't actually live in the event space.)
- They've transformed the 968-square-foot apartment into a teaching kitchen where you can learn how to create seasonal, globally inspired dishes rooted in Southern food traditions and history.
2. 🎶 Immersive art and music tour coming to Charlotte
A touring art and music series is coming to Charlotte this spring.
Driving the news: Atlanta-based Art, Beats + Lyrics (AB+L), known for its celebration of contemporary art and hip-hop culture, will make a stop at Blume Studios on Saturday, March 28.
What to expect: The traveling urban art and music exhibition will have a curated lineup of visual art and music to transform spaces into a multi-sensory gallery-meets-concert experience.
Zoom in: For more than 20 years, this Art, Beats + Lyrics has stopped in major cities featuring artist performances from Rapsody, Mannie Fresh, Scarface and more.
- In Charlotte, they'll have PREMO RICE along with a list of local DJs.
If you go: Reserve your spot now because this event tends to sell out quickly.
- It's free to attend from 7pm-midnight at 904 Post St.
