Gannett veteran Maribel Perez Wadsworth is the new publisher of USA TODAY. She currently serves as president of the USA TODAY NETWORK, which includes USA TODAY as well as 109 other media brands across the country. She takes the reins as incumbent publisher John Zidich retires.
Why it matters: Perez Wadsworth takes over just weeks after USA TODAY named Gannett veteran Nicole Carroll as editor-in-chief . The company, which represents the largest newspaper network in the United States, is making an array of changes to product, leadership and sales to ensure it survives an era of technological disruption.
