South Korean café giant makes its U.S. debut in Alexandria

There's a new South Korean café in the DMV that's all about cake and coffee.
Why it matters: Twosome Place is a mega-popular South Korean brand with over 1,750 locations — and its new Alexandria storefront marks its first expansion into the U.S.
Dig in: Twosome Place is best known for its strawberry chocolate cream cake (chocolate sponge cake combined with cream and strawberries) and its ice box cake, where chocolate cookies are layered with mascarpone cream.
- The cakes will be brought to Alexandria from Korea and sold either whole or by the slice.
Also on the menu: Drinks with a Korean twist, like a Dalgona cream topping (a.k.a. Korean whipped coffee), a black sesame latte, Korean apple-cinnamon tea and a misugaru frappe made with toasted grains.
Plus: Savory bites for all-day dining, like a bibimbap bowl and "K-toast" with bulgogi and egg.
