Live music, food and exhibits will take over 12 blocks of H Street again on Saturday.
Why it matters: The annual festival began as a block party 19 years ago, and this year will have 15 stages for performances while turning H Street NE into a pedestrianized zone.
Zoom in: The beloved neighborhood festival runs from noon to 7pm.
- There'll also be family activities and art offerings, both participatory and through exhibits. "By using the arts as a principle motivator of the festival, it has proven the arts can be a valuable agent in impacting economic growth," organizers say.
- About 150,000 people have shown up in recent years, per organizers.
- The mile-long celebration also supports small, local businesses.
