Washingtonians have a bunch of new places they can fly nonstop — from Taipei to Cartagena and Cabo — as airlines expand their schedules at Dulles.
Why it matters: The new routes make some far-flung vacation spots — and domestic destinations — easier to reach.
The big picture: Dulles has launched around a dozen nonstop routes this year, with more coming this fall and winter.
- If you're wondering why there's nothing new at Reagan National, it's because the airport is slot-controlled. Adding a new route generally requires dropping an existing one or Congress authorizing more — an ongoing fight given concerns about congestion and safety.
