D.C.'s Beat The Bomb debuts patriotic paint bomb game for July

How it works: "Summer Mission: America250 Edition" gives players an hour to race their way through five summer-inspired game rooms — think hitting pirates with cannonballs or delivering BBQ goods — with one mission: disarm a red-white-and-blue paint bomb before time runs out and it explodes on you.

• Sure, you'll be wearing a hazmat suit, but you might need to get bombed before you get bombed. Good thing there's a patriotic drink special — a spiked red-white-and-blue slushie.
• Hang around at the bar afterwards — it has a full food and drink menu — and play arcade games.
• Tickets start at $40, and pre-booking is encouraged.
