How to watch UFC Freedom 250 from D.C. bars or home

If you didn't get an invite or free ticket to watch the UFC Freedom 250 fight at the White House, there are still ways to watch.

Why it matters: The unprecedented cage match on the South Lawn is creating all kinds of headlines beyond sports — but this is also a huge moment for mixed martial arts, and there are some exciting fights in store.

How to watch: If you want to stream from home on Sunday at 8pm, it's available via Paramount+. CBS is also showing the live broadcast.

It's too late to snag free spectator tickets in the Ellipse, but there are a few local bars showing the fight.

Zoom in: UFC bars Tom's Watch Bar in Navy Yard and Dupont's Public Bar will be showing the matches.

U Street hub Sports & Social is also getting in on the action (and has great wings and other bar grub).
According to the UFC site, there are a number of bars with streaming ability in the DMV, including the Bottom Line and Proper 21 near the action downtown, and Walters in Navy Yard.

Why watch: "All eyes seem to be on everything except for what's actually happening in the octagon," Axios managing editor and resident sports expert Mike Szvetitz says. "But if you want to see some quality MMA, this seven-card event will have plenty, especially in the heavyweight co-main event."

"Alex Pereira has the chance to make history by becoming the first UFC fighter to win belts in three different divisions ... if he can beat Ciryl Gane, that is. This will be the best fight in a night full of them."
