D.C. is about to get a new way to explore the universe, no telescope required.
State of play:Smithsonian Starstruck premieres Friday in Penn Quarter, taking visitors on a free-roam journey alongside powerful space telescopes and observatories, using real astronomical data.
The immersive experience, developed by Fever with the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, lets guests explore the birth and death of stars, distant exoplanets and the edge of a supermassive black hole.
Details: The roughly 40-minute experience opens at 926 F Street NW and is recommended for ages 10 and up. Tickets are on sale now (price varies).
