It's a globe-trotting kind of weekend — no passport required — thanks to Saturday's EU Open House.
Why it matters: It's a rare chance to step inside D.C.'s embassies for a cultural experience — think food, music, art and history — all in one walkable day.
State of play: More than two dozen European embassies — plus the EU Delegation — will open their doors Saturday (10am-4pm) for an international celebration commemorating both Europe Day and America's 250th birthday.
What to expect: Free entry to participating embassies, largely around Dupont Circle/Kalorama/Embassy Row (with some exceptions in Georgetown, 16th Street and beyond).
- Cultural performances, exhibits and hands-on activities
- Food samples ranging from Belgian waffles to French treats
- Family-friendly fun like scavenger hunts, trivia and face painting
Zoom in: At the EU Delegation (2175 K St. NW), expect a DJ spinning European hits, a photobooth and tastings — plus exhibits on the long-standing U.S.–EU relationship. Belgium and Ukraine will also be featured on-site.
- Free timed entry here requires registration via Eventbrite.
Plan ahead: Map out your stops here.
