PorchFest! Derby parties! Cinco de Mayo! Racing chihuahuas!
Why it matters: The weather's cooperating (60s, no rain) for what promises to be a jam-packed weekend calendar.
🎸 This year's Adams Morgan PorchFest lineup features 100+ bands and 25+ stages.
- Performances are on from 2pm to 6pm — classic rock, blues, hip-hop, indie, you name it.
- Plus: You can find deals at AdMo restaurants and businesses, from drink and food specials to haircuts.
Pro tip: Arrive early if you want to beat the crowds for lunch, organizers say.
🍾 Meanwhile, Cinco de Mayo events are happening ahead of Tuesday.
- The annual Margarita March takes place Saturday from 1–8pm, with tix getting you into 8 venues for 4 oz samplers at each. First stop: Public Bar.
- Bryant Street Market hosts a block party on Saturday, with a DJ, taco and drink specials from Taqueria Habanero & Alegría Bar, and a mariachi band.
- On Sunday, there's a free salsa concert at MXDC Cocina Mexicana on 14th Street.
🐶 Aaaand the tiny-but-mighty are back at The Wharf, for Saturday's annual Running of the Chihuahuas.
- Dog costume contests, a Pacifico beer garden, adoptable pet parade, and of course the race will kick off at 2pm.
