It's time to let 'er rip and dip: buzzy bagel sensation PopUp Bagels lands in Georgetown Friday.
Why it matters: If a bagel spot pulls mega-lines in NYC, it's probably worth its schmear.
The deal: No slicing. No toasting. No sandwiches.
- Just hot, whole bagels — built for dunking into specialty schmears and butters.
- Yes, it's viral by design: "grip, rip and dip" bagel-pulls are all over Insta and TikTok.
The style: Classic New York — crunchy outside, light and airy inside, proofed and boiled on-site.
On the (tight) menu: Bagels by the bag in classic flavors: everything, poppy, plain, salt and sesame.
- Core schmears: plain, scallion
- Plus: salted butter and weekly rotating flavors, like pimento cream cheese + garlic-herb "hotel butter."
- Extras like smoked salmon, La Colombe coffee and juices.
Between the lines: You can pre-order (and D.C. delivery starts next week).
- But the move? "Walk in and get them super hot," local partner Brian Harrington tells Axios.
What's new: Georgetown's shop is bigger than most (the brand has nearly 30 locations), with second-floor seating.
What's next: The VC-and celeb-backed brand (hi, Paul Rudd) is scaling fast with 300 locations planned nationwide, including 20 in the DMV.
- Bethesda and Arlington are already in the works. After that? The schmear is the limit.
