St. Patrick's Day is Tuesday — but the celebrations start this weekend, from a waterfront festival and pub takeovers to dog-friendly trivia and Irish cooking.
🐶 St. Pittie's Day Trivia Night (Thurs)
A St. Patrick's–themed trivia fundraiser for rescue pitbulls at the Board Room in Arlington.
- Tickets ($50) include trivia, one signature cocktail or specialty beer, and appetizers.
🎻 Ireland's Four Provinces (Fri-Tues)
The Falls Church favorite is going all-in for St. Patrick's Day with multiple days of live music, Irish classics, Six Nations Rugby and an open patio bar — plus specials through the big day.
Free; reservations recommended for the holiday.

🚢 Ireland at The Wharf (Sat)
The largest St. Patrick's Day party goes down at the Wharf — home to Irish-owned pub Kirwan's (a co-host) and, over a century ago, many Irish immigrants. Go for all-day Irish music, dance performances, Six Nations Rugby on the big screen and plenty of Guinness and whiskey.
- Free; VIP "Irish Experience" tickets available ($45)
☘️Shamrock in the Park (Sat)
Head to Arlington's Water Park for a festive afternoon with DJ tunes, Irish food and drinks, outdoor games and a scavenger hunt.
- Free
😋 Boundary Stone (Sun, Tues)
The Bloomingdale pub's popular St. Baldrick's Day head (or beard)-shaving fundraiser returns Sunday — a high-energy, auction-style event benefiting pediatric cancer research ($1 million raised since 2014).
- Then on St. Patrick's Day, doors open at 2pm with festive food and drink specials and live music.
- Both events are free; St. Baldrick's donations are suggested.
