Metro train stations have new secure bike lockers

How it works: Lockers can be rented via the BikeLink app, which shows availability and rates.

• Lockers cost 5 cents an hour, maxing out at $1 a day.
• Standard single lockers fit a regular bike. There's also a version that's split to fit two bikes.
• Coming soon: Oversized lockers for cargo bikes.

By the numbers: Foggy Bottom currently has 10 spaces for standard bikes and Eastern Market has 8 slots.

Flashback: You previously needed an annual rental and physical key to use Metro's old bike lockers.

What's next: Metro says it will install 450 bike lockers, 50 oversized lockers and 100 self-locking bike racks in the coming months. That's across 73 train stations.
