The Washington Commanders are one game away from the Super Bowl — they just need to fly through the E-L-G-S-E-S first.
Why it matters: Whether you're cheering in D.C. or traveling to Philly, all eyes are on the 3pm Sunday game.
By the numbers: The I-95 faceoff is the most expensive NFC Championship game on record, according to TickPick.
- Tickets average $1,269. That's 31% more expensive than last season's title game, per TickPick.
- While a quarter of sales are coming from Pennsylvania, the DMV is showing out, too — D.C. (3%), Maryland (6%) and Virginia (10%).
- The cheapest ticket was $700 as of early afternoon Thursday.
If you go: Travel company SB Events offers round-trip bus service on Sunday to the game ($90) from Arlington, Va., or Hanover, Md., or transportation plus 200-level tickets ($1,031). Book by 5pm Friday.
The intrigue: Look out for celebrity fans. The Commanders claim Matthew McConaughey, Wale, Jon Bernthal (a Sidwell grad), and Ovie, obvi, on their side. For the Eagles, you might see Diplo or Bradley Cooper.
Where to watch: Two official team parties are happening at Whitlow's on U Street and Looney's Pub College Park, where fans can get Bud Light specials, exclusive giveaways and meet "Washington Legends."
- You can also score free, exclusive swag at other Commanders bars like The Blaguard in Adams Morgan and Duffy's on Capitol Hill (full list here).
Pro tip: Many of the parties start with pre-games at 2pm, so arriving early is key to securing a good viewing spot.
Meanwhile, a bunch of other bars are hosting watch parties and specials:
- Bluejacket (Navy Yard): The huge brewery draws a big crowd with $10 liters (plus they're known to pour free beer after wins).
- Midlands (Park View): Nearly 20 TVs indoors and on the heated patio draw fans, plus $5 beers and other deals.
- The Bottom Line (Downtown): An old-school bar with throwback prices. Go for $4 beers, $5 rails, $18 pitchers and specials like $10 mumbo wings.
- Surfside (Tenleytown): Catch the game on projectors and 14 TVs throughout the restaurant and heated patio with $20 Miller buckets and pitchers.
- THRōW Social DC & Kick Axe (Ivy City): Relieve game-day tension with $5 axe throwing and catch the action on a 20-foot jumbotron, plus wing and beer specials.
- Metrobar (Brentwood): Catch the game indoors or on the heated deck with specials on hot cocktails, Commanders bourbon and beer, plus Kush food truck eats (free reservations).
If you're staying home: Slice & Pie has a good BOGO 50% off on its tasty, tailgate party-size pizzas, while Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken offers Commanders-themed dessert boxes.
