D.C. one-day snowfall records, by county

D.C.'s record for most snow in a day hasn't been broken since Jan. 28, 1922, when 21 inches fell. 

Zoom out: The suburbs have set more recent records, according to data from NOAA.

Montgomery County: 28" in the January 2016 blizzard.

Fairfax County: 25.5" in Snowmageddon 2010.

Alexandria city: 14.4" also during Snowmageddon.

What's next: Snow showers are forecast for early Saturday, but it won't break any records. An inch or two of accumulation is expected.
