Broadcast journalist Chris Wallace's longtime Kalorama home is now on the market for $6.4 million.
The big picture: This comes after Wallace announced his departure from CNN last week.
- While Wallace told The Daily Beast he was leaving a seven-figure deal at CNN to pursue platforms like streaming and podcasting, Puck claims that Wallace left after his agents received news that CNN planned to cancel both of his shows — likely reducing his paycheck and airtime.
- Wallace told Puck he never discussed his future at CNN because he'd already decided to leave in advance of the news about his shows.
State of play: Wallace, who previously worked for Fox News, and his wife, Lorraine, have owned the house since 1997. They bought it for $1.1 million.
- The 1929 Georgian Revival has four bedrooms, five bathrooms and almost 5,000 square feet of space.
- Inside, there's a fireplace with a marble mantel dating to the 18th century, a wood-paneled study, a gym and an in-law or staff suite, per the listing agent.
The couple was married at the home, and have hosted guests there like George Clooney, the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, per the Wall Street Journal.
