Lyft scooters leave D.C. Here are others you can book.

State of play: Lyft is cutting back its product ventures, per a release shared earlier this month.

• The company was running about 2,000 scooters in the city, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) told WTOP.

Yes, but: Lime, Spin and Veo all still have permits to collectively operate over 9,500 scooters and 6,700 e-bikes throughout the city, DDOT tells Axios.

• And you can still book a Capital Bikeshare ride via your Lyft app.

Flashback: In 2018, D.C. became Lyft's first East Coast location for its scooters.

• Last year, Lyft had to return almost $90,000 to users after the D.C. Attorney General's office found the group didn't give users proper notice about fines for parking scooters incorrectly.
