This weekend in D.C., check out the return of HFStival at Nats Park, Race the District at Union Market, Hyattsville Arts & Ales Festival and more.
1 big thing: 🧑🎤 Get to HFStival
D.C.'s alt-rock festival is making a major comeback this weekend.
The vibe: The revived festival will bring '90s and early 2000s nostalgia with a lineup of bands including Death Cab for Cutie and Incubus.
- There will also be a Guitar Hero contest, cupcake eating contests, tarot readings, flash tattoos and DJ sets.
Catch up quick: The festival was once held every summer from 1990-2006 by D.C.-area radio station WHFS and was held again in 2010 and 2011.
If you go: Gates open at 10:30am Saturday at Nats Park. Tickets start at $99.
2. 🎉 H Street Festival
- Enjoy live music, local vendors, line dancing, fashion, art and kid-friendly activities noon-7pm Saturday on H Street NE between 3rd Street and Florida Ave. Free. View the performance schedule here.
3. 🖼️ Hyattsville Arts & Ales Festival
- Enjoy an artisan market, local food vendors, craft beer from local breweries and distilleries and live music performances noon-6pm Saturday in downtown Hyattsville, Maryland. View the performance schedule here. Free.
4. 💃 Dance Party with the Queen of Salsa
- Celebrate the life of Celia Cruz with dancing, music, Latin food and a panel discussion with members of her family 7-10:30pm Friday at the National Museum of American History. Free. RSVP here.
5. 🇰🇷 Chuseok Family Festival
- Celebrate Korean Thanksgiving with a fall festival featuring Korean food, crafts, performances and more 11am-4pm Saturday at Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. Free. RSVP here.
6. 🏎️ Race the District
- Race go-karts, see F1 Cars on display and enjoy live music 11am-9pm Friday through Sunday at Union Market. Go-karting tickets are $27.
7. 🍻 Wunder Garten's 10th Annual Oktoberfest Festival
- Oktoberfest at Wunder Garten begins Friday and goes through Oct. 13. Enjoy a keg tap at 5pm Friday, German beer, steinholding contests and German food all month. Free. See full schedule of programming here.
8. 💛 Amazon Community Day
- Enjoy 50 local farmers market vendors, live music, face painting, a scavenger hunt, beer, brunch and more 9am-1pm at Met Park in Arlington. Free.
