"West Wing" President Bartlet meets President Biden

No, it's not a glitch in the matrix: President Bartlet from the hit show "The West Wing" (aka actor Martin Sheen) greeted real-life President Biden outside the White House Thursday.

Why it matters: D.C. nerds are losing their minds.

Zoom in: This fall marks the 25th anniversary of "The West Wing."

Cast members Melissa Fitzgerald (aka Carol Fitzpatrick, assistant to the press secretary) and Mary McCormack (aka Kate Harper, deputy national security adviser) just released their book, "WHAT'S NEXT: A Backstage Pass to The West Wing, Its Cast and Crew, and Its Enduring Legacy of Service."
The authors were also at the White House.

What's next: A big book release event at Sixth & I on Saturday with the authors and cast members, including Sheen and Richard Schiff (Toby!).
