D.C., you have refined taste — Cadbury's Milk Chocolate Easter Candy is the city's top seller, according to Instacart.
Why it matters: Of course D.C. candy lovers favor a Brit-born chocolate that traces its origins back to Victorian England (the mini eggs are now manufactured in Hershey, Pa.).
The big picture: Despite climbing cocoa costs, chocolate candies are expected to still reign as America's favorites.
Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs were the top-selling candy in 2023, according to Instacart and DoorDash data.
Starburst jelly beans ranked fifth nationwide and yellow marshmallow Peeps chicks eighth — the only two non-chocolate candies in the top 10 sellers, per Instacart.
Zoom in: In D.C., the Easter Bunny's top sellers are:
Cadbury's (sublime)
Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs (mmm)
Hershey's Milk Chocolate (if you must)
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (not festive but delicious)
