Roads will be closed across Northwest D.C. Friday evening through Saturday thanks to the Rock & Roll Half-Marathon and 5K.

Why it matters: Runners, we get it — you need the pavement so you can do this whole "exercise" thing — but these closures will greatly affect Saturday morning bagel trips for the rest of us.

State of play: While some roads around the National Mall will be closed starting Friday at 6pm, the majority of closures will take place between 6:30am and 1:30pm Saturday.

Zoom in: Overall, the closures will stretch across several Northwest neighborhoods.

  • Constitution Avenue along the Mall will be closed, as will a large stretch of North Capitol Street from Eckington and Bloomingdale.
  • Expect closures through Columbia Heights and Adams Morgan via Harvard Street and Calvert Street and across the Duke Ellington Memorial Bridge.
  • Rock Creek Parkway will be closed from Calvert Street to the Lincoln Memorial, and Arlington Memorial Bridge will also be closed.
