Minneapolis' Lowry Hill East is throwing a free, neighborhood-wide music festival on Saturday as Uptown Porchfest returns for its fourth year.
Why it matters: More than 30 porches, stoops and front yards in "the Wedge" host 90+ acts spanning from indie folk and "toe-tapping tunes" to metal and R&B.

🎸 Lakeside Guitar Festival: The mostly free, two-day music festival returns to the pavilion in St. Paul's Como Park on Friday. Organizers promise 15 guitar-centric acts — including "Prairie Home Companion" alum Pat Donohue — on three stages "and one floating swan."
🍄 Calling all fungi lovers: Mycelia Fest 2026 celebrates the mushroom with foraging sessions in Fort Snelling State Park and Minneapolis' Powderhorn Park on Friday and Saturday. The event also features vendors and talks at the Hook & Ladder Theater. Pay what you can.
🎨 Artist loft open house: Minneapolis' Northrup King Building is holding an indoor art fair and open house on Saturday featuring nearly 200 artists, galleries and studios. Expect fine art, jewelry, sculpture, wearables, home goods and wellness vendors. Free; 10am-6pm
🇮🇳 IndiaFest: The India Association of Minnesota presents a celebration of Indian cuisine, music and heritage on Saturday, with dance performances, cultural displays, children's activities and a bazaar on the grounds of the Minnesota State Capitol. Free; 11am-9pm
🏀 Festival plus hoops tournament: The Shingle Creek Center Fair will bring local vendors, food trucks, live music, kids' activities, and community resources to North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park on Saturday. Free; 10am-4pm
- This year, the Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be part of the fair. Like the festival, the action's also free to attend.
🎎 Celebrating sister cityhood: The Obon Festival celebrates St. Paul's relationship with the Japanese city of Nagasaki on Sunday. The Como Park gathering features music, dance, martial arts, food, and a signature lantern-lighting ceremony. Adults $8, children and seniors $5; 3pm-9pm
