The Minnesota Wild are getting into the television business.
The team plans to launch a channel that would air in-house productions of this season's games via cable, satellite and streaming.
Why it matters: The franchise hopes to rebuild the once-reliable stream of revenue from FanDuel Sports Network, which aired Wild games until it went out of business in May.
The team itself will be selling the channel's ads, executive vice president Mitch Helgerson told reporters yesterday.
Zoom in: The setup should be similar to the new Twins.TV — though it's still not clear where hockey fans will watch.
The Wild haven't inked distribution deals yet, but it should be available in the same tier of cable and satellite channels as FanDuel, Helgerson said.
The streaming platform is also still TBD, but he said it will be paywalled.
