Minnesota Republicans delay major fundraising dinner

Catch up quick: Former Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin was supposed to headline the June 5 event, with tickets ranging from $250 for individual entry to $25,000 for the top-tier VIP table package.

What they're saying: MNGOP chair Alex Plechash wrote in an email to people who purchased tickets that the party is moving the dinner to September due to a "scheduling conflict."

• "By moving the dinner to the fall, we will be able to gather after the primary with our full slate of Republican candidates standing together — united, energized, and ready to win in November," he wrote, noting that Youngkin is still expected to attend.

Between the lines: The announcement comes just two days after delegates at the GOP's statewide convention endorsed outsiders over establishment-backed candidates in key races, teeing up red-hot primary battles for governor and U.S. Senate.

What we're hearing: Several sources familiar with the decision to delay the dinner tell Axios that donors' frustration with the endorsement for those top two statewide races played a role in the last-minute change of plans.
