Minnesota high school softball player sets new single-season home run record

Park High School senior Alayna Adamez smashed a history-making home run this week.

• She hit her 17th dinger of the year on Wednesday, setting a new single-season Minnesota high school softball record.

Plus: Adamez's blast came in the 6th inning of the section championship and helped her Cottage Grove teammates punch their ticket to state.

What's next: The tournament starts Tuesday in Mankato.
