Scottie Scheffler, the world's No. 1 golfer, has committed to play in the 3M Open in Blaine this summer.
Why it matters: The tournament has struggled to attract the best golfers because it's played the week after the British Open, and many players want a break following the high-stakes major.
What they're saying: "Getting Scottie Scheffler to play, it tells you that the tournament is here to stay and the players like it," 3M Open executive director Hollis Cavner told the Pioneer Press.
Details: The tournament runs June 23-27 at TPC Twin Cities.
Tickets range from $71 to $1,000 and are on sale now.
