Audit reveals more trouble for Minnesota's new app for hunting, fishing licenses

• Last week, the Office of the Legislative Auditor warned that the project still hasn't "met critical success criteria necessary" for its planned spring launch.

Threat level: Sticking with the current timeline would require "significantly compressing or cutting necessary launch preparation activities," the audit found.

What they're saying: DNR says the auditor's concerns "align with the project management issues and actions on which we are already actively working."

• It said "unforeseen circumstances" related to the project's vendor set back the already difficult tax of overhauling the complex licensing system.

Plus: A DNR spokesperson told Axios that many of the issues raised in the report have been addressed since the OLA conducted its review several months ago.

What's next: The DNR's project lead told the Star Tribune that they hope to launch "some time" after the May 9 Fishing Opener.
