It's the first full weekend of Women's History Month, and venues, restaurants and museums have plenty of events planned β particularly for International Women's Day on Sunday.
What's happening: The inaugural We Made This Art Fair, which features 65 women and nonbinary artists, will take over both floors of Machine Shop in Minneapolis Saturday-Sunday. Free
- Hear from Black female authors and creatives at Sister Spokesman's Her Story event in St. Paul on Saturday. Topics include the importance of representation in literature and pathways into publishing. $10
- Broken Clock Brewing Company will host a women-led self-defense class at 11am Saturday. Free, $10 donation suggested
- Progressive organizations are holding an International Women's Day march at 1pm Sunday near Powderhorn Park. Free
What's next: The Minnesota Historical Society has organized a morning coffee chat exploring women's roles at Fort Snelling next Thursday, Mar. 12. Free
- That evening, Mia will have guided tours of artwork by women artists along with live music and printmaking. Free
